Join us for an afternoon of bushwalking, exploring and learning at the spectacular Sherbrooke Forest in the Dandenong Ranges at Grants Picnic Ground in Kallista. A moderate 5.6km walk through the Sherbrooke Forest. Be dwarfed by towering Mountain Ash trees in this small pocket of cool temperate rainforest.
The group will head off, down through the bush tracks and learn how to safely navigate in the bush, how to track animals, learn all about our amazing wildlife, plants, Indigenous history, perhaps do a nature scavenger hunt and then head down to the picnic area to enjoy some bush tea!
Facilitator
Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over 8 years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires, and survive in the Australian bush. He is also a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.
Our bush programs are an all weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children must have closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, sunscreen, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and a change of clothes. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong wind.
