Come and join us for a morning learning about bush tucker, making damper and then cooking it around a warm fire at the wonderful Ceres Environmental Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East. We’ll be set up in the African village.
This workshop is a chance for children and families to slow down and enjoy the simpler things in life. We’ll have an assortment of tasty bush foods to try and add to the damper like Wattleseed and quandong jam which will go nicely with our lemon mytrle tea! It’s like going camping without all the packing! We’ll also share some stories, maybe a few jokes around the fire and finish the session with our popular fire keepers game.
If your child loves camping and the outdoors, then this campfire and bush tucker workshop is for them!
Research clearly shows that the more time children spend outdoors, then better they are prepared for school and life. Spending time outdoors is essential for normal development and a healthy childhood.
This session will be led by Melinda and Adam, the founders and owners of Eco Explrers. Melinda is a certified Forest School Leader who has also trained in Nature Pedagogy under Claire Warden. Adam has a background in outdoor education and is experienced in leading forest school groups in the bush.
We hope you can join us for a morning Aussie campfire ‘experience’ like no other.
