Come and join us to learn the art of fire lighting and how to use a flint safely at Ceres Environmental Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East. We’ll be set up in the African village and children will learn about the importance of fire, what materials it needs, fire safety and then they’ll all get a chance to use a flint and light their own fire.
If your child loves camping and the outdoors, then this fire lighting making workshop is for them. There will even be time to toast marshmallow!
This workshop is run by Adam and Ainslee.
Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He has a background in Outdoor Education and enjoys camping, bushcraft, rock climbing, and meditation.
Research clearly shows that the more time children spend outdoors, then better they are prepared for school and life. Spending time outdoors is essential for normal development and a healthy childhood.
We hope you can join us. Please note that due to the safety risk, children under 3 are not allowed to attend this workshop.
*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their children at all times.
