There’s nothing more magical than seeing your child’s eyes light up as they discover all the wonderful animal homes, mini-beasts and wildlife during a bush walk! Come and join us for a morning connecting, exploring and learning about the local flora and fauna and you may even spot a wombat burrow or scat and a koala if you’re lucky. This workshop includes games, learning about sustainability and conservation and activity creating your favourite Australian animal to take home!
Situated beside the Yarra River in Templestowe, Westerfolds Park offers over 120 hectares of recreational and environmental parkland for visitors to experience and enjoy.
This Bush Kids workshop is run by Emma, a bush kindy facilitator who is currently completing her Master of Environment at Melbourne University, specialising in ‘conservation and restoration’.
Children will go on an adventure searching for clues that tell us about the animals that live at Westerfolds Park. There will be a scavenger hunt and children will search for footprints, burrows, bones, nests, bugs, webs, footprints and even poo!
The children will be encouraged to use their bodies through climbing, balancing and explore the bushland with friends.
Ages: 4- 10 years
*Parents must stay and supervise their children at all times.
