It’s time to get the kids off the screens and into our Bush Kids School Holiday Program these summer school holidays! They’ll learn life skills and how to use real tools while making friends and building confidence. This workshop will be held down by the river in Warrandyte so parents need to supervising and with their children to assist at all times.
Join us in this hands-on workshop where kids learn essential rope and bush skills such as tying various rope knots, learning to construct a boat and mini raft using natural materials. The kids will start off with simple designs and then build more elaborate constructions.
This workshop is run by Ashlee. Ashlee is an early childhood educator, forest school leader and wilderness camp leader who has been working with children for nearly 10 years. She is also a puppet designer and has worked on many projects with children, making outdoor performances and connecting them with their local area.
By giving children small achievable tasks to complete, they learn to become more independent while developing self-esteem and learning to assess risk and make sensible and informed decisions about how to deal with unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. The children will work both independently and as a team and take these skills home with them that can use anytime in the bush.
Ages: 4 – 10 years
*Parents are required to stay and are responsible for their children at all times.
