Ignite your child’s creativity and love of nature with our Mini-beasts workshop! The children will learn all about the AMAZING world of mini-beasts through fun, creative and hands on activities. Located at the popular Ceres Environment Park in Melbourne’s Brunswick East, families can also enjoy a visit to the CERES organic market, cafe and the nursery while there.
The children will create their own minibeasts and bug hotels to take home using natural/recycled materials. They will learn about life-cycles and even get to use real tools to construct their bug homes. Then we’ll head off for a bush walk to the pond and enjoy a game of ‘bug detectives’ on the way with nets and buckets in search of water bugs and water critters to identify and scoop up.
This workshop is run by Pascale and Adam.
Pascale is a Forest School level 3 trained Leader, a qualified Horticulturist and Linguist, who specialises in delivering educational sustainability programs to primary schools and kindergartens. Pascale has extensive knowledge of plants, bugs, and local Indigenous history which she shares through stories and hands-on experiences.
Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to simplify… just ‘being’ at one in nature. Adam now hopes to share his childhood & adult experiences with the next generation to inspire a deep connection with nature. He has a background in Outdoor Education and enjoys camping, bushcraft, rock climbing, and meditation.
*Parents are required to stay and supervise their child unless they are staying for the full day and have booked the drop off option (8 yrs +) which also includes our woodworking afternoon workshop.
