Join us for a morning of getting ‘messy’ in nature making mud pies, magic potions and nature wands! Our workshop guarantees to be a child’s sensory delight as they immerse themselves in nature play, creativity and learning at Braeside Park. We provide a gentle rhythm to our workshops with a focus on sensory play activities, a story, song and unstructured play with plenty of opportunities to build gross motor skills through climbing, balancing and movement during our exploration bushwalk.
Our workshop facilitator Alicia is deeply passionate about creatively engaging people with themselves and nature for their associated well-being benefits as well as the correlated preservation of our environment. A yoga teacher and artist at heart, she has been facilitating nature play based workshops for children and families through various community art projects.
Our workshops are an all-weather outdoor event so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Children must have closed footwear when walking in the bush, sun hats, gumboots, wet weather gear, plenty of snacks and water and a change of clothes. Our workshops will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and strong winds.
Ages: 18 months to 7 years (siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend for free).
*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
