Description
Embark on a bush adventure and learn the skills to explore the wild with confidence at Birdsland Reserve in Belgrave Heights this summer! Kids will discover how to navigate the outdoors safely using maps, compasses, and natural landmarks. Along the way, they’ll get hands-on with essential bush tools, practice knots and rope skills, and explore basic bush survival techniques. This workshop is full of problem-solving, teamwork, and outdoor challenges — all designed to spark curiosity, resilience, and a love of the wild
Some of the challenges that the day will include are;

- Bush walk discovering local fauna and flora
- How to stay safe in the bush
- Snake awareness and safety
- Learn rope knots and construction.
- Nature connection games
Our team of highly experienced forest school educators will support your child’s learning so that they become more confident, curious, and capable and are taught to learn how to take safe risks in the bush through climbing, building and using real tools. They will also discover and learn about our natural environment and its fascinating wildlife.
The forest school is led by Bush Kids Facilitator Anne. Anne is a qualified early childhood educator with over five years running outdoor programs for Eco Explorers in the Dandenong Ranges. She is a passionate advocate for supporting children’s play and natural curiosity.
