Description
Join us for a full day of uninterrupted wild bush play at Gresswell Forest Reserve in Bundoora,
We’ll explore, create, and learn bush survival and bushcraft skills through hands-on activities that are fun and engaging and connect your child to nature in a deep and meaningful way. During this workshop, children will learn how to safely whittle and make their own primitive tools to take home.
Some of the other activities that the children may also do at forest school are;
-
- How to safely use tools (hammers, saws and drills ) and construct things out of wood
- Bush walk discovering local fauna and flora
- How to stay safe in the bush
- Snake awareness and safety
- Learn rope knots and construction.
- Nature connection games
- Eco art & craft
Our team of highly experienced forest school educators will support your child’s learning so that they become more confident, curious, and capable and are taught to learn how to take safe risks in the bush through climbing, building and using real tools. They will also discover and learn about our natural environment and it’s fascinating wildlife.
The forest school is held at Banksia Park in Bulleen and led by Adam.
Adam is the founder of Eco Explorers and has been delivering bush programs to families for over two years. He spent his entire childhood living and camping in the bush; climbing mountains, exploring rivers, learning to fish, track, make fires and to survive. He is also a forest school leader and has a background in Outdoor Education.
Forest school Melbourne is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and severe wind.
