Description
Step back in time and learn the old ways of the wild. In this hands-on workshop, kids discover the art of whittling and primitive tool-making using natural materials found in the bush. Guided by experienced mentors, they’ll learn safe whittling skills while practising patience and perseverance. Located at Wattle Park in Burwood, in Melbourne’s East.Â

Our team of highly experienced forest school educators will support your child’s learning so that they become more confident, curious, and capable and are taught to learn how to take safe risks in the bush through climbing, building and using real tools. They will also discover and learn about our natural environment and it’s fascinating wildlife.
The forest school is led by Kirsty. Kirsty is a qualified primary school teacher who is passionate about child-led, nature-based education, bringing a gentle, empathetic, and curious approach to every learning experience
Forest school Melbourne is an all-weather outdoor program so you need to make sure you bring appropriate weather protection and clothing. Our program will only be cancelled in the event of an extreme weather warning; fire, storm, high temperatures and severe wind.
