Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary is a stunning rockpool oasis nestled in Flinders on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. This enchanting destination is renowned for its rich diversity of marine life, featuring sheltered rock pools, serene coves, and a shallow reef along the ocean side, complemented by expansive sandstone rock platforms that stretch from the shore.
We invite you to join us for a creative learning workshop where you’ll explore the fascinating rockpools and discover the incredible marine life that calls this sanctuary home. Our day will kick off with a captivating marine scavenger hunt at low tide, allowing kids to learn about the remarkable creatures that inhabit Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary. They’ll delve into rockpool habitats and even create their own mini-ecosystems to take home!
This workshop is led by Shaney, an experienced Early Childhood Educator, artist, and storyteller, ensuring a fun and educational experience for all participants.
Eco Explorers is an outdoor program designed to be enjoyed in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately for the elements. The program will only be cancelled in the case of severe weather warnings, such as fires, storms, extreme heat, or strong winds. Join us for an unforgettable adventure!
